Nativity Scenes and the Mormon Church

This is an interesting clip by a news group that shows a Mormon Church displaying Nativity Scenes. Over 600 different Nativity Scenes are on display. Only trouble is it is shown after stories of a robbery and a yellow school bus crash.

The article about the event was better, and take a look at the variety of choirs performing - and they are not even Mormon! Read it here.

In another stake in Peoria Arizona, Mormons gathered blankets and raised money to buy turkey's:
This year, more than $5,800 was donated to WasteNot Arizona to purchase turkeys that go to more than 80 organizations to provide holiday meals for the less fortunate. The two LDS stakes in the City of Surprise added another $4,800 (LDS members in Sun City and Sun City West are part of these stakes). Quilts, fleece blankets, afghans and booties were hand made and donated to homeless and women's shelters, along with book bags and craft kits.

Terrie Schwartz and Shirley Guthrie, both of Peoria, organized the project and arranged for Judy Ryberg from WasteNot to accept delivery. The money will be used to purchase more than 1,000 turkeys.
